Valentine's day gets its name from a famous saint.

情人节得名于一位著名的圣人。

Valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death, but there, he fell in love with the jailer's daughter. He was taken to be killed on 14 February, on which day he sent her a love letter signed "from your Valentine".
