out-there /ˈaʊt ðeə(r)/ adj. 极端的；异乎寻常的

*注意，out-there 作形容词使用时须用连字符, 不用连字符时 out there 则表示“在那边；在某处”。

The stories are a bit out-there.

这些故事有点匪夷所思。

She’s a bit out-there and artistic, but she’s such a fun character.

她有点古怪的艺术家气质，但她是个非常有趣的人。

Each episode ends on a cliffhanger so I binge-watched the first two series at the weekend.

cliffhanger /ˈklɪfhæŋər/ n.（故事、电影、竞赛等扣人心弦的）悬念

*这个单词拆成cliff和hanger两部分来看，“把观众的心吊在悬崖上”，就形容非常吊人胃口的情节。

The election is likely to be a cliff-hanger. 

 这次选举可能会很吊人的胃口。
