barrier-free facilities 无障碍设施

barrier就是障碍的意思，词缀-free表示free of or from something 没有某物， barrier-free也就是无障碍的。

补充几个-free词缀的表达： smoke-free无烟的，tax-free不用交税的， carefree无忧无虑的。

Barrier-free facilities enable people with disabilities, old people, small children to move about safely and freely.

无障碍设施使残疾人、老人、小孩能够安全、自由地行动。

The number and types of barrier-free facilities are relatively insufficient and the construction location is not reasonable in most cities of China.

我国大部分城市无障碍设施数量和种类相对不足，建设选址不合理。

accessible toilets 无障碍厕所

accessible 这个单词就是容易接近，易进入的意思，在这里d的语境是指的easy for disabled people to enter or use 方便残疾人使用的, 所以accesible toilet也就是指的无障碍卫生间, 再比如accessible parking也就是无障碍停车位。

Outside of tourist hot spots, accessible toilets are scarce.

在热门旅游景点之外，无障碍厕所很少。

In the malls, it was often found that the accessible toilet was either locked up or used as a storage room by the cleaning staff.

商场里的无障碍洗手间经常不是被锁了起来，就是被保洁人员当成了储物间。

disability 残疾

我们要注意, 在英文当中称呼残疾人时， 最好把person放在前面， 比如 a person with a disability就会比 disabled person 或者the disabled好很多。In general, refer to the person first and the disability second. This is because people with disabilities are, first and foremost, people. 

One billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, experience some form of disability.

全世界有10 亿人有某种形式的残疾，他们占世界人口的 15%。

As COVID-19 continues to have wide-reaching impacts across the globe, it is important to note how people with disabilities are uniquely impacted by the pandemic.
