coma 昏迷 /'kəʊmə/

coma是名词昏迷的意思a state of profound unconsciousness caused by disease, injury, or poison. 处于昏迷状态，一般是跟介词in连用 in a coma

The singer-songwriter Yuan Weiren is now in a coma after falling over at home.

创作歌手袁伟仁在家中摔倒，目前处于昏迷状态。

He's been in a coma for two days.

他已经昏迷两天了。 

fall over 跌倒

fall这个单词是落下的意思，跟over连用 fall over表示脸朝下跌倒 to lose one's balance and collapse.

He accidentally fell over at home, and fell into a coma. 

他在家里不慎摔倒，陷入昏迷。

I was enjoying myself until I fell over the cliff.

我玩得很开心，直到我掉下悬崖。

consciousness 意识 /ˋkɑnʃəsnɪs/

conscious这个单词本意是形容词有意识的, 清醒的意思。conscious这个单词结尾加上词尾ness consciousness就变成了一个名词，表示意识，知觉。 失去知觉也就是lose consciousness

His head hit the floor as he fell and he lost consciousness from the impact. 

当他跌倒时，他的头撞到了地板上，他因撞击而失去了知觉。

He moaned with pain before losing consciousness.

在失去知觉之前，他痛苦地呻吟着。
