praise 赞扬，钦佩

He praised his team for their performance. 他称赞了各队员的表现。 

Critics praised the work as highly original. 评论家们赞扬这幅作品的高度原创。

compliment 赞美；称赞

She complimented him on his excellent German. 她夸奖他德语棒极了。

flatter 奉承，讨好

At the testimonial dinner everyone flattered him shamelessly. 在纪念筵席上大家都厚颜无耻地奉承他。
