Welcome back to #QualtiyMatter podcast y'all!  We are kicking off a new mini series titled "Understanding the Standard".  We talk about how simple this can be made to understand, so its time to put out money where our mouth is so to speak.  In this mini series we are going to look at the ISO 9001 Standard in specific and really dive into the standard from a process approach.
This week we talk about the Annex SL and what it does and doesn't the various standards ISO publishes.  Darci is impressed with the top down management style for updating the standards.

Kyle mentions how ISO was instrumental in developing standards that govern how you listen to music (see what I did there, HAHA, OK bad dad joke maybe).  Not that Wikipedia is the end all to information on the web, but check it out here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_pitch_notation  Kyle might have gotten a few of the details wrong, but the spirit of story is still the same.  ISO was instrumental in setting the pitch of middle C.
With changes in concert pitch and the widespread adoption of A440 as a musical standard, new scientific frequency tables were published by the Acoustical Society of America in 1939, and adopted by the International Organization for Standardization in 1955. C0, which was exactly 16 Hz under the scientific pitch standard, is now 16.352 Hz under the current international standard system.
Finally we wrap up today's discussion talking a little about API Q1 & Q2 vs ISO 9001, something we will dive into deeper in this series.  The key differences surrounding risk, continual improvement and the audit process itself.
